Quick Update

Just a quick up date ~ a longer one to follow in a day or two.

First, thank you for all your thoughts & prayers!

• Doctor O'Malley & Dr. Weinstein & their team are fairly confident they were able to remove all the cancer. In our meeting with Dr. O'Malley yesterday, he said because the cancer was so close to my carotid artery, he is prescribing radiation and chemo. Just a minute ago, his assistant called me and said it would be just radiation ~ YAY!

• Feeding tube is OUT ~ Doc's all agreed I was healing so well, and, I passed the Drinking Test:)

  2. YAY! So is the haircut on or off or still on hold (feeling a little stupid down here....I know so little about which treatments lead to which results)? Drinking is always good. Passing tests is always good. You ARE having a good day! Dinah Lee

    1. Haircut is ON ~ even though doc says I may lose some around the bottom of my head. That's okay, for once I will appreciate my thick head of hair. I am on "Emergency Hair Appointment Stand By" mode and my cell phone is never far away!

    1. Thanks for the hearting, Lisa! I thought of you last night when I used my festive-looking orange mug to eat cream wheat out of:)

  4. Such good news. And you get to choose your haircut. Bad news, you have t pay for it. I think you came out on top with that trade off!

Luckily you had many years of practice with the drinking. It is good to have a test where you have natural talents exploited.

I would say you get a blue ribbon.

    1. Yup, you are dead on with my life experiences and expertise in drinking. That test was a no-brainer.

I tried coffee this morning, Elixir of the Gods, which I haven't had in weeks and only had one incident of it coming out my nose:)

  5. Good news, Susan, no chemo! Thanks for the update that the healing is going well. I know food will definitely have more appeal shortly, maybe a banana split?? Keep up the good work. Jeanne

    1. Hi Jeanne! Yes, indeed! Food is more appealing every day. Since it takes so long to eat ~ teeny spoonful by teeny spoonful ~ I decided to get more calorie bang by buying a frozen cheesecake. One slice is a little over 400 calories and it is VERY easy to eat:)
